Neptunes crowned BOV U18 Champions after decisive win over Sliema

Neptunes U18 BGM WPSC were crowned champions of the BOV U18 League following a strong and composed performance to overcome Sliema U18 Gillette ASC in the season’s decisive final encounter.

Heading into the last match 3 points above their rivals, Neptunes ensured there was no margin for doubt, delivering a strong display to beat the Blues 15-8 to confirm their status as league champions.

The result capped a remarkable campaign for Neptunes, who maintained a perfect record throughout the season, winning all their matches and finishing with an impressive positive goal difference.

Sliema, who had also enjoyed an excellent season and entered the fixture as the only challengers for the title, pushed hard but ultimately fell short against a disciplined Neptunes side that combined defensive solidity with attacking efficiency.

Following the match, the champions were presented with the trophy by Bank of Valletta Chief Operations Officer Ernest Agius and Aquatic Sports Association President Karl Izzo, in a ceremony that brought the season to a fitting close.

The Bank reaffirmed its continued support for youth water polo in Malta, recognising the vital role of grassroots development in shaping the future of the sport. Through its longstanding partnership with the Aquatic Sports Association, Bank of Valletta remains committed to providing young athletes with the opportunities, structure and encouragement needed to excel, while promoting values of discipline, teamwork and sporting excellence.
