Mosta FC win the BOV Youth Knock-Out
Mosta FC were crowned champions of the BOV Youth Knock-Out, beating Swieqi United 5-0 in the final held at the National Stadium. Demonstrating determination, discipline, and attacking flair.
Swieqi threatened early through Kian Leonardo, who shot just wide after a solo run, but Mosta struck in the 21st minute when Russell Caruana headed home following a defensive lapse. Emmanuel Prince doubled the lead two minutes later with a fine individual effort.
After the break, Mosta maintained control. Luca Chetcuti made it 3–0 in the 54th minute, before Ryan Debono added a fourth on 66 minutes. Prince then completed his brace shortly after to seal an emphatic win.
Swieqi had moments, but goalkeeper Jayden Farrugia produced key saves to deny Mattia Dezzutto and Kojo Okle, ensuring Mosta kept a clean sheet.
The encounter showcased the high standard of youth football in Malta, with both teams delivering an entertaining and competitive display. However, it was Mosta FC who ultimately held their nerve and capitalised on their chances to claim the trophy.
The presentation ceremony was led by Stefan Abela, CSR Manager at Bank of Valletta, together with Maria Azzopardi, Vice President of the Malta Football Association, who presented the BOV Youth KO trophy to the winners amid celebrations from teammates and supporters.
