San Giljan captain Matthew Zammit is the BOV Water Polo Player of the Month for March 2024.
Zammit showed his mettle in San Giljan’s close 13-12 win over Sirens. Trailing by four goals in the second session, ix-Xellugi (the left-hander) kept motivating and inspiring his team while netting 6 of his team’s goals to lead them to victory. Earlier in the month, Zammit had also netted 5 goals in his team’s 2 big wins over Exiles and the same Sirens.
Ernest Agius, Chief Operations Officer at Bank of Valletta presented Zammit with his commemorative trophy for the award in the presence of Aquatic Sports Association President Karl Izzo.
Bank of Valletta has been the main sponsor of water polo in Malta since 2008. The commitment to promoting sport as a catalyst for physical and mental health has been unwavering and continues to grow in the year as the Bank celebrates its 50 years of operations.
