Bank of Valletta presents €253,700 to L-Istrina

The sum of €53,700 was collected through the L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank Campaign through small donations by children in all primary and secondary schools in Malta and Gozo. This sum was presented to the Malta Community Chest Fund during the live broadcast of L-Istrina on the 26 December.
BOV CEO Kenneth Farrugia and COO Ernest Agius also presented a donation of €200,000 to L-Istrina from Bank of Valletta.
‘On behalf of Bank of Valletta and also the Malta Community Chest Fund, we would like to thank each and every student who donated towards this cause, their parents, as well as all the volunteers from the MCCF and BOV, as well as all the staff members in participating schools who helped make this campaign a success,’ said Mr Farrugia. ‘We hope that each and every donation helped create a sense of solidarity and altruism in the younger generation, which donations will definitely help make a difference in the lives of those in need.’
‘We have also taken every step to minimize the impact on the environment through this campaign using cardboard piggy banks made out of recycled material while using much less ink, which is also environmentally friendly to respect the environment’ said the BOV COO. ‘
This is the 20th consecutive year that the L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank Campaign has been held and Bank of Valletta has presented over €3 million euros L-Istrina that include the funds collected by schoolchildren and donations by the Bank.
