The BOV VISA Gold Card is welcomed world-wide. It provides all the benefits of the BOV Classic Cards with the added advantage of a minimum credit limit of €7,000 and many more exclusive benefits.
Travel & Purchase Protection Insurance

As a BOV Visa Gold cardholder you can benefit from free Travel Insurance (for not longer than 90 days each trip subject that a return ticket is held on departure) and Purchase Protection Insurance cover.

The BOV Visa Gold card travel insurance policy covers the Main Cardholder, spouse or cohabiting partner and children under the age of 18, or under 23 provided they are full time students. The eligible member is covered until reaching the age of 76 years.

Purchase Protection

To qualify for Purchase Protection Insurance, you will need to pay for the full value of your purchases with your BOV Skypass Card. If you use your card for purchases both locally and abroad, you are automatically covered for 90 days from date of purchase.



The Travel Insurance Policy is underwritten by MAPFRE Middlesea p.l.c. Optional extensions, as specified on the policy, can be acquired by the cardholder, by contacting Antes Insurance Brokers Ltd. directly on +356 2385 5800/1 or by email on [email protected]   Any additional premium, which may be due in this case, is to be paid and borne by the cardholder. The Purchase Protection Insurance is underwritten by MAPFRE Middlesea p.l.c.

Both policies are arranged through Antes Insurance Brokers Ltd. and all related claims, queries and complaints are to be directed to them.

Priority Pass

Priority Pass  is the world’s largest independent airport lounge access programme. The programme, which is continuously expanding, gives you access to over 1200 lounges worldwide. This includes the most popular airports around the world, including Malta International Airport.
Established in 1992, priority Pass has millions of members. All these travellers are able to enjoy the comfortable and relaxed environment of VIP lounges throughout the world, irrespective of their class of ticket, the airline they are travelling with, or membership of any airline frequent flyer club.

Now, as a BOV VISA gold cardholder you can enjoy this exclusive privilege without having to pay the applicable annual membership fee, currently of US$99, which is waived for you our premium cardholder. To apply for the card please contact your nearest branch. There is a small lounge visit fee, currently US$32 per person, per visit, and will be charged to your BOV VISA Gold Card Account.

BOV Cards Loyalty Rewards Programme

The BOV Cards Loyalty Rewards Programme is available with the BOV VISA Gold, Platinum, BOV Skypass and BOV Flypass Business Cards. Participation is free of charge and cardholders earn 1 BOV Point for every Euro spent. Click here to find out more about the BOV Cards Loyalty Rewards Programme.

Life Assurance

BOV VISA Gold personal main cardholders are automatically entitled for Life Assurance cover underwritten by Mapfre Middlesea p.l.c. through Antes Insurance Brokers Ltd. Cover is automatic for personal principal cardholders, other than those who are 75 years of age and over. The policy covers the outstanding liability on the BOV VISA Gold account up to a maximum of €6,000. No medical underwriting is required and the sum assured is payable to the Bank on the death of the cardholder due to any cause. Naturally, the terms and conditions of the life policy apply.

Notification of date of death of the eligible cardholder must reach the Bank within six (6) months from date of death

The BOV VISA Gold is a chip card with major advancements in card security technology. Further information about Chip and PIN cards and how to use them can be found here.

The BOV Visa Gold Card is a chip and pin card, and contains an embedded microchip and are authenticated automatically using your personal identification number (PIN).
