Update on cheque encashment
14 Jun 2023

We would like to advise that as of 19th June, all cheques including those issued by BOV and Central Bank of Malta (CBM) must be deposited into a BOV account. In this regard, fees related to the encashment of cheque/s will no longer apply to BOV account holders. Should cash be required in exchange for the cheque, customers must first deposit their cheque/s into their account and then withdraw the required amount.

Customers can withdraw up to €1000 daily through our ATMs, depending on the available account balance and the type of card they possess. If larger amounts are required, customers can either contact our Customer Service Centre to temporarily increase their card limit or visit one of our branches, where our staff will be happy to assist.

When funds are unavailable in the account and cash is required immediately, our cashiers will gladly assist customers in depositing cheques and withdrawing funds immediately.
