Qala Saints’ Rafael Conrado Prudente is the winner of the BOV GFA Player of the Month Award for September 2022.
The Brazilian Forward, who joined the Saints at the beginning of the season from Fgura United is a prolific scorer who also distinguishes himself with the leadership and confidence he inspires in his team-mates especially in difficult phases during the games.
Prudente immediately put himself in the limelight, scoring a brace in his Gozo Football debut against Oratory Youths, with another 2 braces against Sannat Lions and Victoria Hotspurs and an important goal against Kercem Ajax for the 1-1 draw. His 7 goals in 4 matches helped Qala obtain 10 points from 3 matches and establish themselves as serious contenders for the BOV GFA 1st Division League title.
Marcelo Barbosa, who also hails from Brazil landed the individual award for October, his fourth time winning this award. Barbosa’s contributions enabled them to end the first round at the top of the BOV GFA 1st Division League table where he opened the score in their 2-1 win over Kercem Ajax. Last year’s top scorer aims to help his team to a consecutive Champions title.
Charmaine Borg, Manager of BOV’s Branch in Victoria Gozo presented both winners with their trophy. Both players chose Fondazzjoni Arka to benefit from BOV’s charitable donation associated with this award.
