Sue Abela and Mauro Anastasi were crowned BOV Ten Pin Bowling National Champions for 2021. The two adult champions managed to take the lead and went on to seal the title at the last matchday.
The ladies’ event was an exciting contest. The first day saw the reigning champion Sue Abela take the lead with a 210 average, over 100 pins ahead of second and third places. Abela managed to retain her dominance in the last two games to end the win with a gap of 37 pins. Abela has now won this title an impressive 25 times.
As at the first day Mauro Anastasi was 98 pins down. On the last day, the lead kept changing hands in an exciting race to finish line, with Anastasi pulling far enough ahead to be able to retain his lead with a gap of just 27 pins. Anastasi has now won this title 5 times in a row, a total of 7 times till now.
Ernest Agius, Chief Operations Officer at Bank of Valletta congratulated the two winners while presenting them with the trophies.
