Depiro’s Kameron Rooks is the BOV Basketball Player of the Month for January 2023. The American 7’1” centre is the leading rebounder of the season with 22.19 rebounds per game and also averaged 28.17 points per game with 169 points from 6 games, the largest point haul for the month.
Luxol’s Taylor Mattos, who joined Luxol this season following his college experience with the University of New Hampshire Wildcats won the award for February 2023. Mattos had very high stats during this period including 154 points, 13.90 rebounds per game and an average of 38.29 minutes of playtime per game.
Starlites Steffi DeMartino won her 10th individual award equalling the record held by Lucienne Bezzina since 2010 with DeMartino winning her first award in December 2011. Steffi totalled 117 points between January and February including 19 treys.
Depiro Hoops Adam Chomo rounded up the awards with the February award for the BOV Amateur League. The guard from Slovakia, who has been playing in Malta since 2019 had a 50% average from the distance with 93 points to his name during January and February 2023.
