The first edition of the MCAST Skills Challenge was held between the 10th and 12th April 2017 and Bank of Valletta was a main sponsor of this educational challenge.
The MCAST Skills Challenge saw over 850 students competing in 65 different challenges in their respective fields of study. Every day, participants faced a set of different challenges. The aim of these challenges was to enable students to showcase their skills in various areas including ICT, Creative Arts, Applied Sciences, Hair and Beauty, Social Care, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Media Production and Business Management.
Mr Charles Azzopardi, Head PR & Marketing at Bank of Valletta said, “Education has always featured prominently in the Bank’s Community Relations Programme, because we believe that a holistic education is critical for the development of our children and youth. Thus we are proud to support this challenge that saw MCAST students from across a broad spectrum of areas of study challenge one another.”
Challenges took place in various areas of the MCAST Main Campus in Paola. Professional judging teams composed of MCAST lecturers and industry specialists assessed competitors live against pre-defined criteria.
