If you are a highly conservative investor and would like your portfolio to be made up primarily of deposit accounts or highly cautious, capital-protected products, then you may opt for a Deposit Based Portfolio. On the other hand, if you wish to preserve your capital, aim for enhanced returns and gain easy access to your funds, an actively managed Cash Management Portfolio might better address your requirements.
Deposit Based Portfolio option
Deposit Based Portfolios are serviced by the BOV Branch of your choice. Although 90% of your portfolio will consist of deposit accounts or similar products, you can still discuss other investment options that are aimed at generating regular income with your Savings and Investment Officer or Financial Advisor. Together, you can select instruments that will help you manage your cash while ensuring that you are comfortable with the level of risk you are taking.
The Cash Management Portfolio
Actively managed by our Discretionary Portfolio Management team, the Cash Management Portfolio is an ultra-cautious approach that offers you the opportunity to entrust the management of your money in the hands of a professional Portfolio Manager. By entering into a comprehensive management agreement that lays down your desired investment limitations and restrictions, you will enjoy the peace of mind in knowing that your money is not at risk and that liquidity is guaranteed.
The service is available in Euro, Pound Sterling and US Dollars. The range of short–term investment options may vary from Money Market Funds, Treasury Bills issued by reputable governments, Malta Government Stocks, short-dated bonds maturing in less than a year and BOV high-interest bank deposits.
