Bank of Valletta has entered into a three year collaboration agreement with the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association (MHRA). The agreement is aimed at assisting the MHRA to further Malta’s Tourism industry, strengthening this sector’s position as the main pillar of the Maltese economy. The sponsorship was presented by Joe Zammit, Head Strategy and Business Development at Bank of Valletta to George Micallef, President of the MHRA in the presence of Adrian Sammut and George Schembri from BOV and MHRA respectively.
“Tourism is widely acknowledged as the main motor behind a country’s economy” said Mr Zammit. “Through this close collaboration Bank of Valletta is assisting the MHRA to be proactive in building a sustainable tourism industry. BOV also plays a very important role within the tourism sector through the financing of projects related to tourism”.
“The BOV-MHRA Quarterly Survey is also the result of the close collaboration between the two organizations. The survey offers the latest information compiled by Deloitte on hotel performance and market trends. It is today considered to be the most authoritative gauge of hotel performance locally and is widely used by industry and government entities alike. BOV believes in the need of such a survey and is proud to contribute towards this initiative”, concluded Mr Zammit.
