Bank of Valletta supports History in Scale 2010
30/03/2010

Bank of Valletta is supporting ‘History in Scale 2010’, the Model Expo organised annually by the Society of Scale Modellers (SSM) IPMS Malta. Heroic knights in armour, the battlefield of Waterloo, the mighty Tiger tank, high tech aircraft carriers and the legendary Spitfire are among the models that will be on display at the Malta Aviation Museum in Ta Qali.

History in Scale was established 29 years ago and has become an annual event much awaited by scale model enthusiasts. This year’s History in Scale is being enriched with foreign participants, thereby making this a truly international event on the lines of other major foreign scale model exhibitions.

Edward Muscat Azzopardi, Head Marketing at Bank of Valletta presented the sponsorship to Joe Farrugia, secretary of the Society of Scale Modellers during a visit to the society’s headquarters. “Bank of Valletta is delighted to be associated with this initiative, which promotes the artistic talents of model enthusiasts of all ages”, said Mr Muscat Azzopardi.

Thanking Bank of Valletta for its ongoing support over the years Mr Farrugia said, “all the models on display are constructed or built from scratch into realistic detailed scale models. The expo is a gallery of miniature aircraft, figurines, military vehicles, dioramas and marine subjects and enthusiasts with an eye for detail will surely appreciate that these models are indeed little masterpieces”.

The exhibition will be open to the general public between the 3rd and the 11th of April 2010, from 9.00am till 6.00pm. Visitors also have the opportunity to see World War II vintage military vehicles on display at the Malta Aviation Museum as well as historical re-enactments.
