Newly acquired Floriana defender Darko Krsteski had the best start to his football career in Malta by landing the 1st BOV Player of the Month Award for the 2007-2008 season of the BOV Premier League.
The BOV Player of the Month award for the month of August 2007 was presented to the winning player by Mario Cilia, Manager of Bank of Valletta’s Floriana Branch in the presence of Louis Micallef from the Malta Football Association.
This is the third season in a row where the BOV Player of the Month Award is being presented. As in previous years, each month a charitable institution chosen by the player will benefit from a donation granted by Bank of Valletta. Mr Krsteski chose Dar tal-Providenza as the charitable institution that will benefit from this donation.
Darko Krsteski’s sound displays in the heart of Floriana’s defence, together with perfectly-timed passes and pinpoint free-kicks that his team mates turned into goals, contributed immensely to Floriana’s excellent start to the season. This player’s knowledge of the game and his stature will certainly be very valuable for the Greens, whose resurgence will hopefully usher a new era for one of the most successful clubs in Malta.
